St Maarten Guest, SXMGUEST.COM is seeking an Executive Chef for hip award winning Bamboo House located on the French/Dutch island of Sint Maarten in the tropical Caribbean. Bamboo has an award winning Sushi team and an exciting Latin/Asian Hot Kitchen. We are need of a new kitchen wizard who is well versed in Grilled meats, steaks, SE Asian flavors, and the flavors of the Mediterranean as our present executive needs to return to the U.S for domestic reasons. We are a bit Madame Fan,(Paris), a Bamboo (Paris),Mila (Miami) , Papi Steak (Miami) STK Steak (NYC) Sushi Samba, and a bit Nobu. Contemporary presentation skills are a must. Experience with purchasing and managing a team is essential. Must have at least 5 years as an executive Sous Chef or Executive Chef in a hi volume restaurant. Bamboo is located atop Diamond Mountain in St Maarten. Bamboo House occupies an 18th century Sugar Mill that has been meticulously restored. Bamboo has 2 outdoor decks accommodating 150 guests and an interior dining room with 75 seats. Experience in catering/special events is a plus. We are seeking candidates that are intrigued and or experienced in living out of the U.S. and thrive in different cultures. working knowledge of French and or Spanish is extremely useful. Candidates must possess a U.S. passport to be considered. We are hiring for a one year commitment. We will provide airfare, and a housing stipend. We are only seeking candidates with working knowledge of and experience the flavors of both Asian and Steakhouse food. We are seeking candidates with experience primarily in independent restaurants and NOT hotels.
